A Cover to the US Forces in
Trinidad.
This 1941 US cover was sent to a
member of Walsh and Driscoll and is addressed to the “Dock Site Camp”. This
refers to the tent city that was the original home of the US contingent when
they first arrived in Trinidad. Walsh and Driscoll was the contractor for the
Wallerfield Base and from April 1941 its workers were busy clearing the El Mamo
and Cumuto forests. This worker must have moved to the area because the front is
endorsed El Mamo.
